Mangamania et cosplay
Des fans de mangas se réunissent par milliers pour faire la fête. Le cosplay est un jeu-spectacle où les participants sont costumés comme leur héros de mangas préférés. Les fonctions ludiques, métaphoriques et métonymiques de ces costumes sont examinées. Les propos d’une adolescente cosplayeuse illustrent la fonction du costume comme objet de créativité, contenant narcissique, enveloppe protectrice, support d’identifications et de différenciation. La réversibilité possible grâce au costume, avec ses aspects « baby » et « sexy » permettrait de lutter contre des angoisses liées à une sexualité adulte irréversible et d’explorer des sensations érogènes de type

Mangas fans gather by the thousands to « cosplay » or « party » together. Cosplay is a group activity combining elements of play and exhibitionism. Participants dress up as their favorite mangas characters. The article discusses the functions of play, metonymy and metaphor expressed in the cosplayers’ costumes. After listening to Rachel, an adolescent cosplayer, it examines the function of the costume as an expression of creativity and as a protective envelope containing narcissistic elements of identity and difference. Thanks to the costume the cosplayer can be both baby-like and « sexy » and thus able to cope with the anxieties of her own fixed adult sexuality. She can explore without inhibition her infantile erogenous sensations.

Los fans de mangas se reunen en multitudes para hacer la fiesta. El « cosplay » es un juego espectáculo dónde los participantes estan disfrazados como sus heroes mangas favoritos. Aqui son examinadas las funciones lúdicas, metafóricas y metonímicas de esos disfraces. El presente artículo se funda sobre la escucha de una adolescente « cosplayeuse ». Sus propósitos ilustran la función del disfraz como objeto de creativdad, continente narcisista, envoltura protectora, soporte de identificaciones y de diferenciación. La reversibilidad posible gracias al disfraz, con sus aspectos « baby » y « sexy » le permitiran de luchar contra las angustias ligadas a una sexualidad adulta irreversible y de explorar sensaciones erógenas de tipo infantil.
